What you need:
1. A jailbroken or non-jailbroken Itouch 1G
2. First you have to upgrade your Itunes to 9.0 andabove. (simply go to Itunes, click to Apple icon at the top bar and check software update and install. Normally it will automatically pop up to ask for software update once you enter Itunes.)
3. Upgrade your firmware to 3.0 with iPod1,1_3.0_7D11_Restore.ipsw. if your firmware is currently under 3.0. (You can’t directly upgrade to 3.0 aboveunless you are willing to pay $4.99 at the itune store). To upgrade it, simply plug in youritouch. Go to Itunes, press option while clicking the restore button. Find the iPod1,1_3.0_7D11_Restore.ipsw file and click Ok. It should take a few minutes to upgrade your Itouch but worth the time.
4. Redsn0w 0.9.3 and above.
5. At this point, you are totally able to jailbreakyour Itouch 1G. But you won’t be able toinstall the updated Installous (the most valuable app on cydia that allows youto download any cracked version of the apps existing on Apple App Store). If you don’t mind. Skip step 6 and 7, go directly to step 8
6. Upgrade your firmware to 3.1.3. Once you have upgrade your firmware to 3.0,when you connect your itouch to Itunes, it should automatically ask you to upgrade your firmware to 3.1.3. Click yes. Waiting for the upgrade to complete.
7. Download iPod1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw. Interestingly enough, redsn0w can use 3.1.2 firmware to jailbreak 3.1.3 device. Simply because you can’t find the 3.1.3 firmware on your computer, Apple conceals them so you won’t be able to jailbreak. But thanks to redsn0w with the ability to jailbreak with 3.1.2 firmware.
8. Start redsn0w
9. Click on Browse and find the iPod1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw file. Then click on Next. It will start patching the kernel.
10.. Click on just Install Cydia. Others are not needed.
11. Turn off your device first, and then when ittells you to turn it on, do so. The next thing might be tricky, if you follow the steps below, it won’t be hard.
12. At this stage you will be presented with ascreen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.
13. Now, just let redsn0w do its work. Congratulations! your Itouch is jailbroken!
To work on Iphone all kinds of generations, and Itouch all kinds of generations, you just need the compatible ipod restore firmware and follow the same steps to jailbreak them. Hope you enjoy it!
